Pearls

If anyone travels on a road in search of knowledge, Allah will cause him to travel on one of the roads of paradise, the angels will lower their wings from good pleasure with one who seeks knowledge and the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth and the fish in the depth of water will ask forgiveness for the learned man. The superiority of the learned man over the devout is like that of the moon on the night when it is full over the rest of the stars. The learned are the heirs of the Prophets, and the Prophets leave neither dinar nor dirham, leaving only knowledge, and he who takes it takes an abundant portion.


A hadith of the Holy Prophet, may peace be upon him




Whosoever removes a wordly grief from a believer, Allah will remove from him one of the griefs of the Day of Judgment. Whosever alleviates (the lot of) a needy person, Allah will alleviate (his lot) in this world and the next. Allah will aid a servant (of His) so long as the servant aids his brother. Whosoever follows a path to seek knowledge therein, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. No people gather together in one of the house of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it among themselves, without tranquility descending upon them, mercy enveloping them, the angels surrounding them, and Allah making mention of them amongst those who are with Him. Whosoever is slowed down by his actions will not be hastened forward by his lineage.
